The James Gemmell Leadership Award is in memory of Dr. James Gemmell, the 11th president of Clarion, who served from 1960 to 1976. Dr. Gemmell recognized the important role that student leaders played in the governance and administration of the university. Upon his retirement, he established an endowment with the Clarion University Foundation, Inc., to recognize the most outstanding student leader at Clarion. The winner of this award will receive a certificate and a cash prize, and the winner’s name will be engraved on the Gemmell Leadership Award plaque. Qualified applicants should consider applying for the James Gemmell Leadership Award here or directly on Engage. Applications will be received until 4 p.m. April 7. The winner will be announced later in April. For more information, contact Matt Shaffer at mshaffer@pennwest.edu.
