Honoring Disability Pride Month
July is Disability Pride Month, a time to honor the history, contributions, and experiences of the disabled community. The Americans with Disabilities Act, a groundbreaking piece of legislation passed in 1990, granted civil rights and protections to individuals living with disabilities, and serves as the catalyst for this yearly celebration.
The Disability Pride Flag
Created in 2019 and reminted in 2021 by Ann Magill, the disability pride flag is a visible symbol to the depth, breadth, and unbreakable spirit of the disabled community.
